My mom and I were so lucky to meet Uncle Norman

Our sincere condolences to Tracey, Hazel and family,

For years my dad Selwyn would talk about his younger brother Norman in England.  The two would often talk on the phone on Sundays.  Many times my mom Polly would ask my dad to invite his brother to Canada for a visit.  The last time the 2 brothers saw each other was in the 1960s.  My dad would always say yes one day they will visit each other.

So when Uncle Norman finally came to visit us in Canada about 8 years ago for Christmas, my mom and I were overjoyed. My mom remembers meeting Uncle Norman at the airport in Toronto and seeing the resemblance immediately to his brother Selwyn. We were delighted to watch the two brothers catch up after so many years.  They spent most of the time just talking and I learned so many precious stories about their childhood in Barbados.

My mom and I are both very grateful that we had a chance to meet Uncle Norman. We will especially remember how he called my father often to check up on him when he was not well.

I can imagine these three Sage brothers Norman, Oliver and Selwyn being reunited once again.  I am sure they are all smiling!

Lots of love from Polly and Margaret xoxo
